About Katie HR Consulting

Hi, I'm Katie

I'm a seasoned HR professional with 16 years of diverse experience at operational and strategic level working in both standalone roles and collaborative team environments. 


Motivated by a passion for creating inclusive cultures I've successfully led initiatives to create value-driven diverse workplaces that prioritise a sense of belonging. I'm a specialist in employee experience with a focus on employee engagement and mental health and wellbeing. As a trained mental health first aider and neurodiversity champion I have successfully crafted and implemented wellbeing strategies, and managed teams of cross-functional wellbeing champions to drive positive workplace outcomes. 


I have a proven track record of managing HR functions both for specific business units and entire organisations, operating across both public and private sectors with a global reach predominantly spanning Europe and the US.


My expertise encompasses the entire HR spectrum, including recruitment, talent management, learning and development, employee relations, performance management, reward and benefits, HRIS, and organisational structure.


I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, am qualified to CIPD Level 7 and a Chartered Member of the CIPD. I am currently studying for a Masters in Psychology. 

Prior to setting up Katie HR Consulting in April 2024 I was Head of People, Culture, and Inclusion at a start-up company dedicated to building inclusive workplaces.


Notably, in this role I also provided consultancy services for business clients across a range of diverse sectors, delivering training, coaching managers and HR personnel, and developing strategies to enhance workplace inclusivity. This experience afforded me a unique view into the world of HR consulting and reinforced my ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic settings.


Upon leaving this role I decided to set up Katie HR Consulting to continue working with a diverse range of clients where I can utilise my expertise to make a real difference. I was eager to bring my wealth of experience, strategic insights, and passion for cultivating positive workplace cultures to support organisations and individuals to thrive.

 Now I work with a number of organisations providing a range of strategic and operational HR services. I’m involved in collaborating with other freelance business partners on specific HR projects. I also work with some individuals providing coaching, mentoring, and career development guidance.  


I'm also a Co-Director at The Mental Health Collective, a hub for unlocking the potential of social and collective approaches to mental health. I'm a big advocate for our Kindness By Post exchanges which reach thousands of people in the UK every year.


I'm based in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District. In my free time you'll generally find me out walking or running with my dog Skye, cuddling Charlie the cat, baking / eating cake, or at the yoga studio.

Steps, Stillness & Skye: The Power of a Simple Walk
